Grammar #16: Direct and Indirect Speech (in the Call Lab) DUE THURSDAY

Part 1:
Watch the following video.

Write 5 sentences that you hear in quoted speech. There are many ways to do this. Please vary your style and word choice to make it interesting.

For instance,
"I heard you the first time," Ricky said to Lucy, "but what language is it?"

Part 2:
Reply to your own comment. WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO  is to rewrite your original sentence in reported (indirect) speech.

For instance,
Ricky told Lucy that he had heard her the first time but that he didn't know what language it was.

    1. This is good, but I'd really like for you to vary the way you write the quotes. I'd like to see you put the quote at the beginning and also to break the quote into two parts.
